The Frigate BONHOMME RICHARD (1765-)
A 900-ton merchant vessel built in France donated by the king in 1777 to the American cause. Placed under the command of, Captain John Paul Jones who refitted the DUC DE DURAS to 20 guns a side, and renamed her.
