Richard A. Loeb (1905-1936)
    In 1924, Nathan Leopold and Loeb, kidnapped and murdered a fourteen-year-old, Robert Franks. They confessed they had done it for the exhilaration of planning and executing "the perfect crime." Defended brilliantly by Clarence Darrow but convicted.
