How It Happened -- In 1926, Frank Iquinta started the Health Bread Company in northern West Virginia. At the age of 10 years old, Frank's grandson, Ben D'Annunzio, started baking bread at the bakery. In 1955, Ben took over the Health Bread Company and acquired his grandfather's bread business. Since then, Ben along with his family, have served the West Virginia area with fresh hard-crust bread, Pepperoni Rolls and buns. Steve D'Annunzio, the youngest of Ben's two sons, enjoyed visiting Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He decided the only thing Myrtle Beach was missing was his family's bread. So, on March 6, 1996, Steve and his wife Tammy opened their own bakery using their father's recipes and techniques. And people in Myrtle Beach have eaten better ever since. Families have grown -- children have moved away -- still they crave the bread. No visit "back home" is complete without stopping by the bakery to load up on breads for the freezer. And - most importantly -- to get hot fresh "Pepperoni Rolls" for the ride home! Pick up some Pepperoni Rolls for your ride home today. D'Annunzio's breads are baked using premium flours, and do not contain any sugar, fat, or cholesterol. Shelf life is 7 -10 days at normal room temperature. All our bread products freeze well. When needed, just take it out of the freezer, place in a 425 degree oven for 5 - 8 minutes.
