Charles Dickens (1812-1870)
Novelist. Dickens worked relentlessly, producing several successful novels which created a Shakespearean gallery of characters. His novels include Oliver Twist, Nicholas Nickleby, and The Old Curiosity Shop, David Copperfield, Bleak House, A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations.
